Swish! Swish! I am painting the forest.
Swish! Swish! I am painting the woods.
Swish! Swish! I am painting the forest.
Oh wait, I just ran out of Green.

No green paint! Green paint!
How will I paint the forest?
How will I paint the woods?
How will I paint the forest?
By mixing my yellow and blue!

Optional Actions:
Swish/Painting/Paint: Move arm as if painting with a paint brush
Forest/Woods: ASL of forest
How: hands out to sides, palm up
Green: ASL green
Yellow: ASL yellow
Blue: ASL blue

Paint your little foot,

Swirl the brush, get it clean
To remove any paint

Optional Verses: knee, arm, hand, ear, etc.

Optional Props: Give out clean paintbrushes or scarves to pretend to “paint” with

We’ll all go round the moon,

On a Sunday afternoon.

Alternatively: switch “Sunday afternoon” to “Sunday evening soon”

Additional Verses: Change the day of the week so follows the week pattern: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday

Option Actions
Group circle:
Join hands and move in a circle with varying speeds. May wish to change directions or speed for each line.
Sitting activity:
Round: Draw a circle in the air
Moon: ASL for moon OR make hoop with arms overhead
Stars: ASL for stars OR open and close hands as if twinkling star

A silent monster slowly spreads

Turn on the light
to shrink it back to small.

Silent: Put index finger in front of mouth in “shh” motion
Monster: Make monster claws
Spreads: Start low then stand up and spread out arms
Light: ASL for light OR as if flicking on a switch
Shrink: Slowly crouch down
Off: as if flicking off a switch

Seek to find an egg that’s [color]

Actions:
Have plastic colored eggs spread about the room.
Have the children take turns finding a particular color.
OR, alternatively, hand the children different colored felt ovals/eggs. When mentioned a particular color, the child holding that colored “egg,” puts it on the felt board.
