Spaghetti: Fingerplay and Song

On Top of Spaghetti

Words—Traditional
Actions by Mary Ryan

On top of spaghetti
HOLD ONE HAND FLAT IN FRONT OF YOU AS IF A PLATE
All covered with cheese,
PRETEND TO SPRINKLE CHEESE  WITH OTHER HAND
I lost my poor meatball,
HOLD UP ONE FIST
When somebody sneezed.
TOUCH NOSE  (MAY WISH TO ADD AN “ACHOO!”)
It rolled off the table,
MAKE TWO HORIZONTAL FISTS AND USE THEM TO MAKE ROLLING ACTIONS
And on to the floor
TOUCH FLOOR
And then my poor meatball
HOLD UP ONE FIST
Rolled out of the door.
ROLL FISTS AS BEFORE
It rolled in the garden,
ROLL FISTS AS BEFORE
And under a bush
HOLD UP ONE FIST THEN COVER IT WITH OTHER HAND
And then my poor meatball
HOLD UP ONE FIST
Was nothing but mush.
SMASH HANDS TOGETHER.
