Momma called the Doctor and the Doctor said,
HAND MAKES A “Y” BY HAVING THUMB AND PINKY FINGER STICK OUT OF FIST; BRING TO EAR LIKE A PHONE
“No more monkeys eating too much cake.”
SHAKE POINTER FINGER AT IMAGINARY MONKEYS

Possible Modifications: For a simpler verse and more basic actions, consider simply counting along on your fingers.
Another possibility is utilizing the flannel board. Pieces needed could be as simple as five monkeys, a large cake, a phone, and a doctor. To add a little more STEAM, make the cake so that it can separate into pieces. You can remove pieces as the monkeys “eat.” Between verses, ask the kids how many pieces are left, or, for an older crowd, it would be an excellent opportunity to bring in fractions.
