SWEEP HAND TO SIDE

ADDITIONAL VERSES MAY INCLUDE:
The drums in the parade go boom boom boom
MOVE HANDS AS IF HITTING A DRUM
The flags in the parade go swish, swish, swish
HAND OUT PERPENDICULAR TO ARM, WAVE HAND LIKE FLAG
The cars in the parade go honk, honk, honk
MOVE HAND AS IF PRESSING STEERING WHEEL’S HORN
The balloons in the parade go up and down
HANDS “FLOAT” UP THEN DOWN
The singers in the parade go “La, La La”
HAND IN FIST IN FRONT AS IF HOLDING MICROPHONE
The mayor in the parade goes “Vote for me
TAP HAND TO CHEST
The kids in the parade go “How’d you do
WAVE HAND


Participation age range:6 months to 8 years

Skills Utilized/Reinforced: Fine motor skills ; Applying life experience

Possible Modifications: Pick and choose the verses you like. Rearrange them to build a parade to suit.

For the older kids, it was fun to assign each verse to a small group of kids. Then we “built” a parade and each got their turn in the spotlight.

Themes: Parades, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Party, Celebrations, Neighborhood
