Participation Age Range: 6 months to 8 years

Skills Utilized/Reinforced: Fine motor skills ; Animal Science (Knowledge of Beavers) ; Animal Engineering (Process of Building of Lodge) ; Animal Habitats (Lodge is by Water) ; Numerical Order (Counting)

Possible Modifications: For a really young crowd, it might be beneficial to simply count along on fingers rather than using the rest of the actions.

For an older crowd, it is often fun to repeat such rhymes and increase speed with each telling. This “race” will often engage the older set (6-8 years) even though the counting is from one to ten.
