Fairy Tale Cinderella: Fingerplay

Cinderella’s Prince
Text and Actions by CK Emanuel

The food was divine,
TOUCH LIPS WITH FINGERTIPS
and the music  soft and sweet.
MOVE FINGERS AS IF PLAYING A PIANO
The dancers moved in circles
WITH HANDS, DRAW A CIRCLE
as the king  and queen looked on.
HANDS AT SIDE OF HEAD TO MAKE A CROWN
The prince’s heart was happy,
HAND OVER HEART
But the happiness couldn’t last.
SHAKE HEAD “NO”
The clock  sang out- Midnight!
SWAY SIDE-TO-SIDE, HANDS TO MOUTH AS IF SHOUTING
And away his lovely lady raced.
TWO FINGERS IN UPSIDE-DOWN “V” ‘RUNS’
The prince’s heart was heavy
HAND OVER HEART
To find himself alone.
HOLD UP 1 FINGER
A glistening glass shoe  was a clue
TOUCH SHOE
To begin his epic search;
HAND OVER EYES AS IF SHIELDING FROM SUN
For when the prince next saw his lady,
POINT AS IF SEES THE LADY
he vowed to hold on tight.
CROSS ARMS ACROSS BODY IN A “HUG”
